Peter Semiletov releases Drumlabooh v7.0

Peter Semiletov has announced the release of version 7.0 of Drumlabooh, his multiplatform drum machine, featuring a complete rewrite of its SFZ support, enhancements to its native drum kit format, and two new drum kits, bringing the total to over 30 free bundled kits.

According to the developer, the SFZ reader has been rebuilt to improve compatibility with existing SFZ drum kits. However, the "include" directive and round robin options within SFZ files are not currently supported.

The native Drumlabooh kit format has been expanded to simplify the creation of complex kits. Users can now define kit parts within a single file and reference them by filename in the overall kit definition. This change breaks compatibility with the developer's older Drumrox drum machine, though simple and previously created kits remain compatible. No new kits utilizing the extended format are available at this time.

Format support in Drumlabooh v7 includes:

• Drumlabooh: Up to 36 instruments per kit, 127 layers per instrument, round robin options, note mapping, and the ability to clone kits at the session's sample rate for faster loading.
• Quick Kit: A simplified Drumlabooh format for direct loading of external samples via the GUI.
• SFZ: Up to 36 instruments per kit, 127 layers per instrument, note mapping, and sample offset.
• Hydrogen: Up to 36 instruments per kit, 127 layers per instrument (limited to 16 by the format).

Other improvements include smart "hihats mute" functionality across all supported formats, and all pan and volume settings hardcoded within drum kits are now overridden by Drumlabooh's internal mixer.
