Plugin Alliance releases ADPTR Audio Utopia - Spectral Reverb

Plugin Alliance and ADPTR Audio have announced the release of Utopia, a spectral reverb plugin developed in collaboration with Geraint Luff of Signalsmith Audio.

Described as a spectral reverb that shapes space, time, and texture, Utopia aims to move beyond conventional convolution reverbs to create evolving and cinematic soundscapes. It is designed for crafting long, dense textures with clarity. The plugin features a spectral processing engine that tracks and transforms harmonic content in real time.

Utopia is presented as a compositional and harmonic tool with parameters for controlling focus, density, and harmonic details to create textured spatial effects. Its spectral algorithm is designed to dampen clashing harmonic content dynamically while preserving clarity and sustain as new audio enters the reverb.

The plugin includes controls such as Focus, which aims to isolate harmonic content; Atmosphere, for enhancing subtle details or smoothing transients; and Spectral Blocks, which control harmonic resonance for varied bloom and response. Utopia also features a Color section with presets affecting decay, spectral characteristics, and post EQ, and a Shape section to mold the onset and initial decay of the reverb.

Additional features include advanced controls for automation and synchronization, such as a tempo-syncable or sidechain, Volume Shaper with Ducking, Gating, and Pumping modes, and a Buffer Reset function for instantly resetting the audio buffer via BPM-synced MIDI or manual control.
