Waldorf releases Blofeld for iPad and updates Blofeld Plugin to v1.1.1

Waldorf has announced the release of the Blofeld synthesizer for iPads along with a minor update for the macOS and Windows plugins.

Following the success of the macOS and Windows plug-in versions, we have ported the software to iPadOS so that you can play this wonderful instrument both via the touchscreen and in AUv3 hosts such as Apple's Logic for iPad, Steinberg's Cubasis 3 or AUM. External MIDI controllers can be connected via USB.

Blofeld for iPad

The versatile Blofeld synthesizer is available in a specially optimized version for your iPad – including plugin support for mobile DAWs.

With the app, you can even control your Blofeld hardware synth and seamlessly continue using your existing sound sets. The sound engine is based on the proven Blofeld architecture and delivers the signature, powerful Waldorf sound – known from classics like the Q, Microwave, and the legendary Wave.

At its core: an expressive wavetable synthesis inspired by the iconic PPG synthesizers of the '80s. Whether edgy, bell-like, or punchy – this sound is instantly recognizable and has made music history.

iPad Version:

• According to Apple's rule of app distribution the iPad version is a separate product from the plug-in version available only via Apple's AppStore and not connected to the plug-in license.
• On-screen virtual piano keyboard with polyphonic aftertouch.
• Supporting virtual Core MIDI compliant devices as well as external devices connected via class compliant USB MIDI like MIDI keyboards or controllers.
• Connects MIDI and audio to macOS hardware via USB C using Apple's standard methods.
• Contains an AUv3 extension supporting iPad hosts like Garage Band, Logic Pro, Cubasis 3 or AUM.
• Presets are fully compatible with the hardware and plug-in version.
