Blue Cat Audio updates Fader Hub Network Mixing Console Software to v1.2

Blue Cat Audio has released Fader Hub 1.2, a major update for the network mixing, streaming and recording console software.

This new version is a major step forward for network audio collaboration, whether you are working with multiple machines on a local network or collaborating with remote musicians online. With several synchronization and latency compensation features, it helps fighting against network latency and brings distributed recording to the table, ensuring that all recorded tracks of connected instances are kept in sync, wherever they are recorded.

With the ability to synchronize a backing track or a click over the network, the latency for real-time collaboration is virtually halved, the software acting like a conductor synchronizing the musicians. This means that online remote collaboration is now possible on much longer distances without sacrificing the quality of the performance. Locally or remotely recorded tracks can be kept in perfect sync and mixed together later for a latency-free mix of the performance.

New in Fader Hub 1.2:

• Synchronization & Network Latency Compensation:
  • SYNCED input: ensure all connected participants hear a backing track or click simultaneously (no latency), regardless of the distance.
  • Synchronized transport: synchronize all connected applications, with built-in clock latency compensation for latency-less real-time playback.
  • Synchronized recording: start/stop recording in sync with playback across multiple devices on the network, and keep all recorded files synchronized.
  • Optional real-time network latency compensation: Fader Hub can compensate the network latency on all LLAN mixer strips for a perfectly synchronized mix.
  • Automatic network latency compensation for recording: latency is automatically compensated for perfect synchronization of individual recorded tracks.
  • Reported latency is now displayed in the status bar (bottom right).
  • Check reception latency for each LLAN Mixer channel by hovering the mouse on the drift meter (ppm).
  • Synchronize app transport & BPM with other devices/software with MIDI Clock and/or MIDI Timecode (MTC). Both send and receive supported.
• Performance:
  • Improved connection stability when sender under high CPU load.
  • Optimized performance: Up to 50% lighter on CPU when not using all available channel strips.
• Other New Features & Improvements:
  • New MIDI Loopback port to route MIDI events from hosted plug-ins back to Fader Hub's input.
  • Improved connection status reporting for LLAN Mixer channels.
  • Recorded tracks are now saved in a separate folder for each recording.
  • Reveal current preset in Finder/Windows Explorer.
  • New built-in phase flip plug-in.
• Fixes:
  • Fixed issue with some older VST2 instrument plug-ins not receiving MIDI events (such NI Kontakt 6).
  • Fixed VST3 plug-ins sometimes not updating meters when loaded in Fader Hub.
  • Fixed Arturia VST3 plug-ins editor not re-opening properly when closed with the plug-in slot button.
  • Fixed Audio Player crashes when using file with less channels than the plug-in.
  • Fixed Audio Player not properly syncing its playback position when resampling.
  • VST/VST3 plug-in: fixed occasional performance issue when controlling fader Hub macro parameters via MIDI.
  • Fixed CPU meter display sometimes off by one pixel.
  • Fixed memory leak in receiver when using resampling.
  • Mac: Fixed Audio Unit plug-in taking a very long time to validate in Logic or GarageBand.
