Ocean Swift has announced the release of Sample Tester, a free sampling tool for the Free Kontakt Player.
Designed as a compact, zero-friction utility, Sample Tester is built for anyone working with oscillator-style samples. The idea is to provide a quick and easy way to audition tonal or looped material. Users can drop an audio file into the instrument and immediately play it polyphonically to hear how it behaves in a musical context.
The instrument can automatically detect the root note of a sample, or it can be set manually. It also provides on-screen MIR-derived metrics like pitch, peak, RMS, and loudness at a glance. You can toggle between streaming the sample directly from the disk or using Kontakt's Time Machine Pro algorithm to hear how it responds to time-stretching.
Ocean Swift says:
Ocean Swift Sample Tester is a FREE Kontakt Player NKS, compact, zero-friction tool for anyone working with oscillator-style samples. Drop a file in, play it polyphonically, and know immediately how it behaves in context. The instrument detects (or lets you set) the root note, reports MIR-derived metrics at a glance, and lets you hear the sample either streamed directly or stretched with Time Machine Pro – so you can decide what belongs in your kit, SD card, or Eurorack module. It is designed as a companion to our Spectral Oscillator Toolkits – and equally useful for any tonal or looped material.
Drag and drop loading for immediate auditioning.
Root note can be set manually or via automatic MIR detection.
