discoDSP updates Discovery Pro, OB-Xd, OPL synths and Bliss Sampler

discoDSP has announced updates across their product line, featuring macOS native interface improvements, unified licensing systems, and enhanced platform support.

Discovery Pro 8.9.2

Discovery Pro is a virtual analog synthesizer and sampler with 4 layers, 12 oscillators, SFZ/WAV/SoundFont support, PADSynth re-synthesis, and Nord Lead 2 SysEx import/export.

Version 8.9.2 enhances MIDI control visibility and improves menu usability across macOS and Windows/Linux platforms.

What's New:

• macOS Native Popup Menus: Replaced all popup menus with native macOS implementations for faster performance, proper Retina rendering, and system-consistent styling.
• MIDI Control Improvements: Reorganized MIDI menu structure with Show MIDI CC Mappings and Show MIDI CC Button Mappings moved from Help menu for logical grouping. Layer selector buttons (A/B/C/D) now display CC 63 overlay when MIDI CC mappings are enabled. MIDI CC Button Mode menu item now shows CC 71 indicator for clarity. All demo restrictions (oversampling, AAX/LV2 rendering) are now enforced via runtime license checks, allowing immediate feature unlock without reinstall after registration.

OPL 2.7.2

OPL emulates the Yamaha OPL2 chip from 1985, featuring FM and additive synthesis with percussion mode, 16x oversampling, and over 2000 presets for classic game soundtracks.

What's New:

• SFZ Loading Improvements: Fixed SFZ loading failures on Windows. Fixed relative path handling for SFZ sample files on Windows. Fixed Sample Editor > Recent sample loading not focusing properly the waveform. Fixed memory corruption crash in parallel sample loading.
