Universal Audio has announced the release of UAFX 2.0, a complimentary software update for its dual-footswitch effects pedals and amp emulators. This new software release aims to provide guitarists with deeper control, greater flexibility, and more comprehensive integration into existing rigs, particularly those that rely on control changes.

What's New in UAFX 2.0?

The update is free for existing owners and features new connectivity and preset options, especially or those who use their gear in a complex setup, with a looper or a larger MIDI-controlled system—the addition of MIDI is a significant shift. The way guitarists approach signal flow and control has changed dramatically over the last few years, and having the capability to integrate effects pedals directly via MIDI can make a huge difference in live performance or studio automation.

The UAFX 2.0 update includes a few key changes:

• USB MIDI Connectivity: The pedals can now be incorporated into virtually any MIDI rig, allowing for real-time control, editing, and preset switching. It is worth noting that the MIDI CC parameter control features are initially being released under an open beta.

• Expanded Presets and Footswitch Modes: Owners of the UAFX amp emulator pedals gain access to four user presets, making it possible to switch instantly between custom amp tones without deep menu diving.

• Improved UAFX App Connection: Universal Audio reports a more stable connection with the UAFX Control app, supporting both rock-solid Bluetooth and hardwired USB-to-Mobile cable connections. This smoother experience is always welcome when you need to make quick tweaks or manage pedal settings.
