FabFilter Releases Pro-C 3 - Compressor Update with 6 New Algorithms and Immersive Support

FabFilter has announced the release of Pro-C 3, the latest version of the company's compressor plug-in. This update introduces significant architectural changes, including six new compression algorithms, enhanced side-chain EQ capabilities derived from Pro-Q, and native support for immersive audio formats up to 9.1.6.

Pro-C 3 expands the total number of compression styles to 14. The new additions cover a range of dynamic behaviors, including transparent "glue" compression, classic optical and variable-mu emulations, and upward compression. The update also introduces "Character Modes," which allow users to apply analog-style saturation and drift. This section includes adjustable Drive and Pre/Post routing options for tone shaping independent of the compression circuit.

For advanced dynamics processing, the side-chain EQ has been completely redesigned. It now features six bands and utilizes filter shapes from the Pro-Q series, including All-Pass filters and Brickwall high/low-pass filters.
