Yamaha Announcements at NAMM 2026: MODX M Synths, MGX Digital Mixers, URX Interfaces & CC1 Controller

Yamaha has unveiled a significant range of new electronic musical instruments and pro audio equipment at the 2026 NAMM Show. The launch lineup is headlined by the new MODX M synthesizer series, the MGX line of digital mixers, URX audio interfaces, and the CC1 control surface.

MODX M Synthesizers

The MODX M series (comprising the M6, M7, and M8) draws from the architecture of the flagship MONTAGE M, featuring three distinct synthesis engines. Designed for both stage and studio applications, the new workstations offer updated physical controls and software integration.

Key Features:

• Polyphony: 268 notes of total polyphony.
• Interface: Updated navigation via a color touch screen, eight faders, and six display knobs.
• Connectivity: Built-in USB MIDI and multichannel audio interface (10 output / 4 input) for single-cable DAW integration.
• Software Integration: Includes the Expanded Softsynth Plugin (ESP), which replicates the MODX M hardware within a DAW environment, allowing users to edit and mix performances without the physical unit connected.

MGX Digital Mixers

The new MGX Series transitions the long-running MG mixer line into a fully digital format. Designed for live sound, recording, and streaming, these mixers incorporate features previously found in Yamaha's higher-end digital consoles.

• Workflow: Simple and Expert modes with scene recall capabilities.
• Control: "Touch and turn" control scheme.
• Streaming: Built-in audio and video streaming capabilities on select models.
• Recording: Onboard recording functionality.

URX Interfaces and CC1 Controller

Yamaha has introduced the URX series of audio interfaces and the CC1 dedicated controller, targeting content creators, streamers, and home studio producers:

• URX Interfaces: These units feature a touchscreen GUI, tactile knobs, and onboard DSP tools/effects. They support external controllers and come bundled with Steinberg software.
• CC1 Controller: A hardware control surface featuring motorized faders and LCD keys. It is designed for integration with OBS, Elgato, and Steinberg software to manage livestream scene switching and DAW automation.

EAD50 Electronic Acoustic Drum System

The EAD50 is a new drum module and microphone system designed to simplify miking acoustic kits while adding electronic triggering and processing. The package includes the module and the DSU50 stereo condenser microphone, which mounts to the bass drum hoop.

Key Features:

• I/O: Five XLR inputs, support for up to 10 triggers, eight individual 1/4-inch balanced outputs, and two XLR balanced outputs.
• Processing: 250 scenes (70 preset, 200 user), 2,317 onboard sounds, and 252 digital effects.
• Functionality: Sampling and looping capabilities, Bluetooth connectivity for use with the Rec N' Share app, and Live Set recall.

Additional Announcements

Yamaha also displayed a variety of acoustic and electric string instruments at the show, including:

• Guitars: The Pacifica SC Standard Plus, RS02CB Chris Buck Signature Revstar, and 60th Anniversary editions of the Revstar (RSP20B) and FG9 acoustic. A new TransAcoustic model, the TAS3 C, was also shown.
• Orchestral: The SVC300C and SVC300F Silent Cellos and the limited edition YTR-8335IIRSKG Xeno trumpet.
