Bunker Samples has released Dan T'rung, a Vietnamese bamboo xylophones Kontakt Instrument.
Dan T'rung is a Vietnamese bamboo xylophones that to the best of our knowledge has never been sampled before. It has a bright and clear sound and can easily replace traditional western xylophones for a different flavour.
For this library we worked together when Phan Thuy, one of Vietnams finest traditional musicians, and recorded at Zebra Studios in the heart of Hanoi.
The T'rung originated in the central highlands of Vietnam centuries ago, and while the early versions where pentatonic the, the T'rung of today has a range of over three octaves and is completely chromatic, so naturally we also sampled it chromatically as every bamboo tube has it's own distinct sound.
The library features hits and rolls with a customisable articulation switching system, and has three microphone perspectives for maximum sound shaping capabilities.
Dan T'rung requires the full version of NI Kontakt 6.7.1 or later and is available now for the introductory price of $25 until February 28 (reg. $39). It's also available in the Vietnam Bundle together with its sister instrument Sticks & Stones (Vietnamese lithopone).
