Ahangi releases Rangiin Sitar Synth for Android and iOS (AUv3)

Ahangi has announced the release of Rangiin, a new mobile instrument application for iOS and Android that brings the rich, expressive sound of traditional South Asian string instruments to mobile devices using real-time physical modeling.

Rather than relying on static sample libraries, Rangiin calculates every string vibration and sympathetic resonance on the fly. This procedural approach allows the instruments—including the Sitar, Sarod, Tanpura, and various Veenas—to respond dynamically to the user's touch, capturing the iconic buzzing timbre created by the traditionally wide bridges of these instruments.

On iOS, Rangiin fully supports AUv3, allowing producers to load the instruments as a plug-in directly inside mobile DAWs such as Logic Pro for iPad, AUM, Cubasis, and GarageBand.

Rangiin is available now on the iOS App Store and Google Play Store.

The basic version is free to download and includes the Sitar and Tanpura (locked to the root pitch of C). All other instruments, as well as the ability to change the root pitch, can be unlocked via a one-time Pro Version In-App Purchase that costs around 10 EUR or 10 USD.
