Sketch Audio Releases Free "Lil' Doc" Detroit-Style Compressor Plugin

Sketch Audio has released Lil' Doc, a new compressor plugin.

Lil' Doc is a compressor effect based on the muscular vinyl simulation made famous by a workhorse sampler of the early 00s. It's a powerful effect that's found a cult following among lo-fi heads, and rightly so.

The plug-in features the exact same algorithms as Sketch Audio's paid plug-in, Doctor Vibe, stripped down to four essential controls:

• Slam - amount of compression.
• Noise - vinyl noise and crackle.
• Drive - converter input clipping.
• Grade - four selectable sample grades.

Lil' Doc is available in the AAX, AUv2, AUv3, CLAP, and VST3 formats for macOS, Windows, and iOS, and is free to download at sketchaudio.com. Desktop installers require a free Sketch Audio account; the iOS version is available on the App Store.
