Cosmic Ambient is a new Elastik soundbank from Ueberschall built around the sound of late-1970s and early-1980s electronic music: sequencer-driven synth patterns, vintage textures and electronic rhythms aimed at ambient, synthwave, electronica and sci-fi scoring.
The library is organized as 15 construction kits totaling 1.3 GB and 308 loops. Each kit is built around a complete musical idea while keeping its individual elements separated, so the underlying pads, basslines, sequencer parts and drums can be pulled apart and rearranged. Tempos span 70 to 130 BPM and loop lengths run up to 1:25. Kits cover a range of keys, and Elastik's tempo and pitch algorithms handle matching them to a project.
The source material centers on atmospheric pads, analog-style synthesizers, evolving textures and electronic sound effects, with delays and plate reverbs used to create the wide, spacious environments the genre depends on. Synth basses and pulsing sequencer lines form the low end, while the drum material covers kicks, snares, hihats and assorted bleeps and zaps drawn from vintage electronic percussion.
For drum programming flexibility, each kit ships with a full drum mix, the individual drum tracks, and the single drum sounds, so the rhythm section can be used as-is or rebuilt from scratch. Selected kits also include vocoder-processed robotic voices, a recognizable marker of the early electronic and science-fiction sound the library draws from.
Cosmic Ambient runs in Ueberschall's Elastik player, which is included in the download, so no separate sampler is required. Elastik handles time-stretching, pitch-shifting and scale syncing to adapt loops to a project, and adds sound-design functions including resample, formant, reverse and a multimode filter. Its tag-based browser searches across all installed Elastik libraries, which is useful for producers who already own other Ueberschall banks and want to locate specific sounds quickly.
The library targets producers working in ambient, synthwave, electronica and sci-fi or retro-futuristic scoring who want a ready source of sequencer-based grooves and cosmic textures rather than programming the sounds from raw synths.
Cosmic Ambient is available now for €59 as an Elastik soundbank for macOS and Windows in AU, VST, AAX and standalone formats with the Elastik player and downloader included.
