Steinberg premieres Nuendo 4 at AES (+Cubase 4.1 sneak preview)

5th October 2007

Steinberg Media Technologies is presenting new products and technologies at its booth at the 123rd AES Convention in New York. The Steinberg booth located at Stand Nr. 826 premieres the recently announced Nuendo 4 Advanced Audio and Post Production System. Also presented at Steinberg's booth is a preproduction version of the Nuendo SyncStation precision synchronizer hardware, as well as a "sneak preview" of the upcoming 4.1 update to its Cubase Advanced Music Production System.

"The products presented here at AES represent a new generation in the digital audio software world," comments Kazunori Kobayashi, Steinberg's Managing Director. "Nuendo 4 is the technological apex of digital production software, with new features developed for audio professionals. Our commitment to delivering advanced audio tools of the highest quality has also driven development of Nuendo SyncStation, which is now in the last stages of development. We're also happy to offer a free update to Cubase 4.1 later this month as a service to our Cubase 4 customers that offers exciting new features such as Sequel compatibility and support for MusicXML," adds Kobayashi.

Nuendo 4 takes Steinberg's audio production platform to a new level. State-of-the-art VST3 technology, a brand new plug-in set, a world-class new automation system and a range of new post production editing facilities are just some of the features introduced to Nuendo in version 4. Available for Windows Vista and Intel-based Macs running OS 10.4, Nuendo 4 is shipping worldwide to resellers from October 2007.

Showcased at AES Europe in April 2007, the Nuendo SyncStation is set for release in Q4 2007, and provides post production environments with an advanced hardware synchronizer solution with full remote control from within Nuendo 4. Nuendo SyncStation offers a wide range of physical interfaces for machine control and synchronization, and is developed in cooperation with Colin Broad of CB Electronics.

Also spotlighted at Steinberg's booth is Cubase 4.1, with a world debut for this new version of Cubase. Cubase 4.1 will be a free update for all Cubase 4 customers, and adds new functionality to Steinberg's Advanced Music Production System. Due for release in late October 2007, the Cubase 4.1 update includes compatibility with Steinberg's entry-level Sequel music creation software, MusicXML support, a redesigned sample editor, new routing capabilities, sidechaining for VST3 plug-ins and many other new features and enhancements.
