Maximal has updated Maximal, a peak limiting maximiser with an on-board exciter, to version 1.1.0.
Version 1.1.0 brings user-selectable oversampling to the limiter. Oversampling is used to help stop aliasing and inter-sample peaks when the limiter is pushed hard.
Maximal can now run in 2x, 4x, and 8x oversampling mode, or no oversampling. An increase in the oversampling factor will also increase CPU usage.
The main changes for version 1.1.0 are:
- Added 2x, 4x, 8x oversampling options to limiter.
- Fixed bug where the 'liquid' exciter mode would sometimes output silence.
- Fixed bug where the peak level meters would stop working in some situations.
Maximal is a VST/AU plugin for Windows & Mac OS X, and is available in the Venomode January sale, for only £19 (RRP £39).
