Channel Robot releases Shapiro - 5-Oscillator Wave-Shaping Synth for VST/AU/Standalone
Channel Robot has released Shapiro, a new virtual instrument that features 5 oscillators configured into two matched pairs and a Sub-oscillator. The oscillators in the matched-pairs have 9 different types, and a dedicated oscillator mixing section with velocity control, sample & hold and a dedicated envelope, thus allowing unique and interesting evolving sounds.
Outputs from each oscillator-pair pass through its own Wave-Shaper, with 7 different wave shapes, which can be controlled with a dedicated envelope – and on into a dedicated filter section, with 10 different filter types.
Meanwhile the sub-oscillator passes through its own drive effect and on into its own volume envelope. The combined output of all the voices is then passed through the effects section, then through CR's "Drift" analog-tuning emulation engine and into a legato system derived from CR's work on orchestral ROMplers.
Shapiro allows comprehensive control over where and when modulation can be applied, many controls have independent Note Velocity and Sample & Hold modulation sources that users can select. It is possible to use Note Velocity to set the voice volume, set the mix of the oscillators, set the amount of drive into the Wave-Shaper and set the Filter Frequency, it is also possible to apply Sample & Hold to voice volume, mix, shape amount and filter frequency. Many controls also have a dedicated step-modulator.
Shapiro comes with an comprehensive arpeggiator and CR's unique macro-like CC message assignments page. Shapiro includes 100 presets in the presets system.
Shapiro is designed to be a powerful and unique synth, but with a logical and simple layout that allows you to get up and going really quickly.
Price: £25.00 - Shapiro is available as a demo (15 min time out) and for sale at Channel Robot
