Sampleson releases Things - A Visual Approach To Classic Synthesis

-
Sampleson

Sampleson has released Things, an easy to use synthesizer based on visual references. Things implements what they called "Descriptors" which are objects and ideas that help you understand the effect of a knob and the kind of sound it will create.

Sampleson says: "Creating professional synthesized sounds is a hard task. Programing a complex synthesizer is not for everyone. We propose a solution to everyday Synth needs. THINGS allows you to create hi-quality synth sounds even if you have zero experience in synthesis"

This is the list of Descriptors, all of them can be accessed via MIDI CC or automated in your DAW:

  • Rubber Bands: Real-time parameters: Gum amount, Time, Gain and Character.
  • Arcade: Real-time parameters: Softness, Time, Gain and Color.
  • Crystal: Real-time parameters: Delay, Worm, Gain and Color.
  • Clouds: Real-time parameters: Softness, Time, Gain and Color.
  • Alien Talk: Real-time parameters: Number of Aliens, Anger, Gain and Speech speed.
  • Air: Real-time parameters: Attack, Release, Gain and Speed.
  • Horror: Real-time parameters: Gain, Attack, Evolve and Evilness.

Under the hood, Things implements FM, Subtractive and Additive synthesis methods and some effect manipulations. It also includes a full featured 32 steps arpeggiator featuring 4 to 32 steps selector, Octave range switch, Note Shift automation, Note Velocity automation, Note Length automation, Arpeggio direction (4 modes), Shuffle amount knob, Ignore key-down option, Sync to host and manual tempo.

Intro Price: $19.
