-
StrayCurrent Software

StrayCurrent Software has released Harmonybeam for Ableton Live, a new M4L device that lets users create "professional, polished chord progressions with a native-feeling workflow":

Type chord symbols as text and they instantly update in a synced MIDI clip, or generate new progressions from scratch under 3 genre umbrellas (Classical, Pop + EDM and Jazz + Neo Soul). Then tweak with intelligent chord suggestions, use automatic voice leading for smooth transitions, and instantly apply over 40 rhythm patterns in one click.

Features:

  • Type chord symbols as text and sync live to a MIDI clip.
  • Generate new progressions for 3 genre umbrellas.
  • Tweak progressions further with intelligent, context-aware suggestions.
  • Choose between several different voicing styles and activate Auto Voice Leading to let Harmonybeam find the smoothest and most musical transitions.
  • Apply over 40 rhythm patterns to the whole progression in one click.
  • Use the MIDI mapping to trigger chord blocks and even add and modify chords all from your MIDI controller.

Pricing & Availability

Harmonybeam is available for $24 as a Max for Live Device for Ableton Live (Windows and macOS). Future updates are free for all users.
