Arturia has announced the release of Brass v2.0, plus a new bundle of the Arturia Brass 2 software and Akai Pro EWI-USB wind-controller. This combination is offered in limited edition for the price of €399 / $449 MSRP.

Brass is Arturia's software recreation of three wind instruments - a trumpet, a saxophone and a trombone. All the characteristics of the real instruments have been analyzed and modelled by Ircam Paris through mathematical algorithms to offer extreme realism and expressivity.

BrassIn version 2.0, Brass offers an entirely redesigned interface with major new features and improvements:

  • New physical modelling of the saxophone.
  • Two new Saxophone mouthpieces.
  • Possibility to play four instruments at a time using a new Harmonization module.
  • Advanced spatialization possibilities.
  • Improved MIDI control.
  • Better integration into DAW software.
  • Entirely redesigned interface.

Frédéric Brun, Arturia CEO states: "Arturia is extremely proud to be working with Akai Professional, a reference name in our industry, to bring a bundle that will satisfy the most discerning musicians. The EWI-USB is de facto an industry standard and it was a logical match to our new version of Brass."

"We are delighted to partner with Arturia, a young but innovative company. With this combination of Arturia Brass 2 and the EWI-USB, we are offering musicians a great solution at a great price." adds Mark Frederick, Akai Professional V.P. of Sales and Marketing.

The Akai Professional EWI-USB enables wind players to enjoy the same expressive control as in an acoustic instrument. While EWI-USB is easy and fun to use, it is also powerful, flexible, and most importantly reliable enough for use on stage and in the studio by professional musicians.

Its USB interface means that all you need is nearly any computer (Mac / Win) and the included EWI-USB software, and you're ready to practice, perform, create, and record with a full collection of wind instrument sounds.

This bundle will start shipping on January 25th, 2010.
