Cableguys have released VolumeShaper 4, adding multiband shaping, spectrum view, a selection of waveforms for faster editing, a streamlined UI and updated preset library.

From multiband sidechain compression effects to extreme gating, from tempo-synced stutter to precise sample-shaping — VolumeShaper lets you shape the levels of any audio signal in pinpoint detail.

VolumeShaper features multiband waveform-based editing, a comprehensive selection of preset curves, a precise oscilloscope, a big spectrum view and an updated preset library. It runs sample-accurate in sync with your DAW, in Hz mode up to the audible range or retriggered via MIDI.

VolumeShaper 4 is €30/$40 and is available for Windows and Mac OS X, in 32- and 64-bit, for VST and AU.

I've taken a little time to view the videos and then get hands on with this tool in the past day or so. I want to opine that this thing is a lot of fun, powerful, and straight up useful. I was already a fan of volumeshape 3, and this takes that beauty and moves it forward. The new GUI is in keeping with the look of Filtershaper, which is also a great tool to have on tap. The multiband funtionality opens up some new doors, and I was surprised just how easily I could really change the entire feels of my parts with perfect tempo sync and in very little time. Much like the good folks at Fabfilter, Cableguys gives you a financial reward for loyalty when you own some of their products and log into your account. All of their products have been rock solid for me in terms of performance, and this jewel is no exception. It's addictive, and more than worth the price of entry, in my one humble opinion. I can comfortably recommend this to anyone who's listening. Likewise, it's a true (non-ozone6-philosophy-style) upgrade, with even more useful features than it's already cool predecessor. I'm glad I bought it.
