Cakewalk announces Free Update when you buy SONAR 8

Cakewalk has announced a new promotion where users who purchase or upgrade to SONAR 8 Producer or SONAR 8 Studio will receive the next paid update to SONAR as a free download when released.

"Retailers have reported to us that software sales over the Summer tend to slow down as customers anticipate big updates in the Fall," commented Anthony Conte, Cakewalk's vice president of sales. "Cakewalk is offering this free promotion to address the concerns of customers who want to buy the latest version of SONAR, but are concerned that they might be left behind if the next update is around the corner. Now you can start making music today with SONAR 8, and then enjoy a host of new features for free when the next update is released."

Purchase or upgrade to SONAR 8 Producer or SONAR 8 Studio at any participating music & sound retailer worldwide or Cakewalk.com starting July 1st 2009, and receive the next feature-rich update to SONAR as a free download when released later this year. Cakewalk will also be making the free download available to anyone who has purchased SONAR V-Studio 700, starting from the product's initial release in January. The next update to SONAR will also be available on DVD for a nominal fee at the time of release for those customers with slower connection speeds or who prefer physical media.

In addition, US retailers are offering $100 rebates on SONAR 8 and many participating retailers worldwide are offering considerable savings on SONAR 8 starting July 1st. Check with your local retailer for details.
