CME has announced wireless MIDI group connectivity for all WIDI devices. WIDI Master is like a virtual MIDI cable. Basically, it is a Bluetooth MIDI adapter that adds BLE MIDI to your MIDI device via 5-PIN DIN sockets.

With the latest firmware and iOS WIDI app a new world opens in wireless MIDI connectivity. You now can add up to five (5) WIDI devices per wireless group. Enjoy duplex (bidirectional) transmission between one (1) central (master) and up to four (4) peripherals. And run multiple groups simultaneously saved as default settings in your WIDI devices' memory.

Also, the latest firmware allows renaming of WIDI devices for an improved virtual cable management experience. Furthermore, you can go into advanced settings and push your personal preferences based on your unique MIDI setup.

With advanced settings you can now set:

  • TX power: Save power consumption by selecting lower dB level (note: the connection range will be reduced accordingly).
  • BLE role: Force to Auto, Peripheral or Central.
  • Set personal preferences: optimize for low latency performance or low jitter performance.

Last but not least the latest firmware adds timestamp support for real-time sync/clock and long SysEx files for dumps and app support.

You will need 2x WIDI Master to pair two MIDI devices. Without computers. Without cables. Instrument to instrument. You will only need 1x WIDI Master to pair with Bluetooth MIDI devices such as mobile devices, computers and Bluetooth MIDI controllers.
