Image Line has released a significant update, FL Studio 21.2, introducing two new features aimed at enhancing the music production experience. This update brings Stem Separation and the integration of FL Cloud, a service designed specifically for FL Studio users.

Stem Separation for Enhanced Creativity

FL Studio 21.2's standout feature is the much-anticipated Stem Separation tool, which empowers music producers to extract individual tracks from any audio source directly within the DAW. Users can isolate drums, bass, instruments, and vocals, offering more control and creative possibilities during the production process. The separated stems are conveniently arranged below the parent Audio Clip, enabling users to mute, edit, process, and manipulate them as needed.

FL Cloud: Streamlining Music Production

The second major addition, FL Cloud, is deeply integrated within FL Studio, offering a vast and continually expanding library of royalty-free loops and one-shots. In addition, it provides AI-powered mastering and music distribution to all major digital streaming platforms through a partnership with DistroKid. This service aims to simplify the music production process by providing users with essential resources, all accessible within the familiar FL Studio interface.

Subscribers to FL Cloud can choose between a monthly subscription at $7.99 or an annual subscription at $79.99, providing a significant cost-saving compared to monthly payments. For a limited time, an introductory annual subscription is available at $49.99. New and existing FL Studio users will also receive a free one-month FL Cloud Trial subscription, without any commitments or the need to provide credit card information. Additionally, users can purchase Credit Packs to access premium sounds, including Artist Packs, outside of the free FL Cloud offerings.

FL Cloud is designed to provide FL Studio users with everything they need to create and share their music, seamlessly integrated into the beloved FL Studio workflow. Our goal is to make music production accessible, productive, and enjoyable, while ensuring our core promise of Lifetime Free Updates to FL Studio remains intact.

Constantin Koehncke, CEO of Image-Line

FL Cloud launches with an extensive library of sample packs and curated collections, spanning various music genres. Additionally, FL Studio has partnered with prominent FL Studio music producers, offering their signature sounds for download. New Artist Packs and curated Collections will be added monthly.

While browsing for sounds, FL Cloud users benefit from deep integration within FL Studio, enabling them to audition tempo-matched samples within their projects, retune them to match their song's key, and easily incorporate them into their projects. FL Cloud also enhances the local browser by displaying additional online search results when looking for local files. All downloaded sounds remain accessible, even after a user's subscription ends.

In partnership with DistroKid, FL Cloud introduces music distribution, allowing subscribers to access DistroKid's Musician plan, which enables unlimited releases on major streaming platforms while retaining 100% of royalties.

Having DistroKid integrated into artists' workflow within FL Studio, and giving them the option to upload music to streaming services directly from their DAW, provides the kind of seamless experience that we always strive for at DistroKid.

Moreover, FL Studio 21.2 extends support for FL Studio Fruity Edition, enabling users to add up to eight different Audio Clips to their arrangements, enhancing their creative possibilities.
