Reflex Acoustics has released Reflex Pre-Limiter, a multiband soft clipper plugin designed to be used on its own or in combination with a lightweight limiter (such as the free Reflex Limiter) to beef up the latter's sound.

Multiband clipping is a powerful way to add weight and presence to one's low end, drums or master bus—especially for music intended to be mastered and played loud. On the right material, such processing can subtly boost energy and clarity without increasing LUFS.
The Reflex Pre-Limiter is optimized for mastering applications, with crossovers that can preserve the signal's shape (prior to clipping) and avoid introducing phase rotation.
When placed before a limiter that doesn't already have multiband capability, the plugin allows the limiter to be driven harder without unpleasant artifacts.
The user interface is simple and quick to configure, because input and output gain are handled automatically and users merely need to adjust (if desired) how many decibels they want shaved from the peaks in each frequency range.
