Roland Cloud updated to v4.8 - includes JV-1080 VST / AU

-
Roland

Just before Christmas, Roland updated Roland Cloud to v4.8, featuring a software adaptation of one of their most popular synthesizers: The Roland JV-1080.

The most famous of the Roland PCM powerhouses, the Roland JV-1080 is the 'down to the circuit' inspiration for the Roland Cloud JV-1080 software plugin. It was a huge success with artists and producers, and eventually lead to even more powerful models in the series such as the JV-2080 and XV-5080.

While the Roland Cloud JV-1080 has the look, feel and factory patches of the original, it has the expanded effects, additional waveforms, and increased polyphony of its successors.

If you are a Roland Cloud Core Member or are enjoying a 30 day free trial, you should see the JV-1080 available for download and installation via Roland Cloud Manager.

Roland Cloud Core Membership

They have also overhauled the look, feel and flows on the Roland Cloud website. Everything you want to browse is now more accessible and organized than ever before.

Pricing:

  • $19.95 / month.
  • $215.40 / Year.

I have completly missed this due to the fact that they advertise very poorly. I thought I had to have a system-1 or 8 to use this. Not that they where native plugins. I was really thrilled to sign up for a free moth. I have been looking for a Juno-106 plugin and to be honest, TAL-UNO-X is not sounding like this Juno-106 plugin from Roland. I can't hear the difference at all. It is so miniscule that it's rediculous. Now that the JV-1089 is out this is something I'm going to sign up for. Love the JV series and the other models that came after this. Did use it a lot in the 90's. A must try.

I hate this subscription models all these companies are going to. Of course they make more money "leasing" the software to you. These plugins are quite expensive if intend to have them for awhile. But I can see if you just use it once, it may be cheaper go for the $20/mon.
