Samplesphere has launched its new sample based Foleyman Series of VST instrument plug-ins for Windows conceived specifically with animation, film and game producers in mind.

Four plug-ins are currently available: H2O (£17), Mgun (£16), INFERNO (£14), and Commotion (£15). Two versions of each plug-in are included, a single stereo output version and a multi output version.

H2O adds rain, streams (rivers, brooks, etc.) and beach waves to your production.

  • 26 stereo/mono rain variations.
  • 21 stereo/mono stream variations.
  • 24 single looped beach waves.
  • Each sound group operates on its own MIDI channel.
  • Right click MIDI learn on all controls.
  • Need to know information is accessed via the (i) button on the interface.
  • The included stereo/mono brown, pink and white noise when added in various degrees to rain or stream sounds can simulate extra intensity, useful for creating waterfalls for example.
  • All sounds were developed from actual recordings (apart from noise).

Mgun allows you to operate 8 different guns simultaneously to create shootouts.

  • 28 different guns.
  • Each gun operates on its own MIDI channel.
  • Right click MIDI learn on all controls.
  • Need to know information is accessed via the (i) button on the interface.
  • All shots were synthesised with the named guns having been modelled after recordings of the real weapon. Shells and Actions were Foley created. (Actions are gun handling sounds such as reload, etc.).

INFERNO enables you to create from large forest fires to small camp fires.

  • 8 stereo/mono flame variations.
  • 17 stereo/mono crackle variations, of which 8 are synthetic crackles to simulate man made materials burning.
  • Each fire operates on its own MIDI channel.
  • Right click MIDI learn on all controls.
  • Need to know information is accessed via the (i) button on the interface.
  • Sounds were developed from a combination of actual recordings, synthesis and Foley.

Commotion enables you to create explosions with fall-throughs, smashes and debris for a realistic simulation of the devastation caused by explosions.

  • 12 stereo/mono variations of explode.
  • 12 rubble variations.
  • 12 debris sounds and 7 dust sounds.
  • Each group (A, B and C) operates on its own MIDI channel.
  • Right click MIDI learn on all controls.
  • Need to know information is accessed via the (i) button on the interface.
  • All sounds were created with a combination of synthesis and Foley.

Note: Due to the nature of these plug-ins they do not have presets in the generally accepted sense, as scenes created rely entirely on sounds being played together or in sequence, although all control settings can be saved and MIDI files exported from a DAW so they can be reused.
