SonaMetro updates Guitar Notebook to v2.4 for macOS and iOS - Adds Sound & Custom Tuning

SonaMetro has updated Guitar Notebook, an app for iPhone, iPad, and Mac that allows creative guitarists to capture their song ideas with simple notation, audio recording, text, and lyrics, to v2.4.

The new version brings sound and custom tuning to the app, as well as a refreshed design that supports Light and Dark modes. They say:

At long last, sound brings Guitar Notebook to life, allowing guitarists to hear the notes they tap and strum on the virtual fretboard, so capturing song ideas is easier and more intuitive. Sound also enables players to explore new chords and progressions even when they don't have their guitar nearby.

The new custom tuning feature, with a full 128 note range for each string allows for true-to-life tunings or impossible setups for creative exploration.

New Automatic page styles take advantage of the system settings for Light and Dark Mode, so users don't have to switch manually when working day or night. In addition, the entire app now matches the system Light and Dark mode setting.

Other recent updates to the app include the ability to show notation as standard Chord Diagrams or FlexFrets. Chord Diagrams are familiar to most guitarists and display 5 frets vertically. FlexFrets are unique to Guitar Notebook and can display up to 24 frets horizontally, making them useful for extended scales, arpeggios, or any pattern.

Users can try the app for free and create up to 5 songs, or upgrade to Pro with an in-app purchase of $4.99 for one year or $19.99 for lifetime (Songs can always be accessed even if a subscription ends).
