Stefano Daino updates DSP-Quattro to v5.6.1 - now native on M1 Macs

Stefano Daino

Stefano Daino has announced that a new version 5.6.1 of DSP-Quattro, an audio editor, plug-in host, audio CD mastering application for MacOS, is now available.

This new version 5.6.1 is a Universal Application, it runs natively on Macs based on both Apple Silicon M1 and Intel processors.

v5.6.1 is a free upgrade for all v5 registered users.

What is new:

  • It is a Universal Application, it runs native on Macs based on Apple Silicon CPU.
  • New command to burn an audio CD directly from a DDP image.
  • New option to save the current audio CD as DDP image just after the burning process of the current audioCDLayout, to avoid to render again the current audioCDLayout for burning additional copies when reloading the project.
  • New auto-detection to build an audioCDLayout directly from the regions on an audio file.
  • New command to import an audio CD image saved as AIFF or WAV file from the previous versions of DSP-Quattro.
  • Fixed a potential problem of access privileges when exporting and replacing the source file.
  • Fixed a graphic problem on PDF sheets on MacOS HighSierra or older.
  • Several bugs have been fixed.

NOTE: if you run DSP-Quattro on a Mac based on Apple Silicon CPU, to be able to host plug-ins compiled only for Intel Mac, which run on Rosetta2 of MacOS BigSur, you need to force DSP-Quattro v5.6 to run on Rosetta2. To do it, do cmd+I on the application icon and set the flag to start it on Rosetta2.
