Steinberg has announced the release of Cubase 14, the latest version of its music production suite. Cubase 14 offers several new features and enhancements, including six new modulator devices, a new Drum Track type, an enhanced MixConsole, and a revamped Score Editor.
Cubase 14 introduces six new modulators that allow users to modulate any parameter of a track or channel containing an audio signal. The new modulators include an LFO, Step Modulator, and others.
The new Drum Track type is an all-in-one environment for creating complex drum patterns. It includes a new Drum Machine, a versatile hybrid of drum sampler and percussion synthesizer, and the Pattern Editor for programming beats.
The full MixConsole can now be opened in the Lower Zone of the Project window, allowing channels to be rearranged via drag and drop. The event volume curve editing has also been enhanced, allowing users to optimize their audio with draw tools.
New effects in Cubase 14 include Shimmer, a reverb plug-in; StudioDelay, an easy-to-use delay with built-in effects; Autofilter, a filter designed for modulating its cutoff frequency; and Underwater, a signal processor for building atmosphere and space.
Cubase 14 introduces a revamped Score Editor built on technology from Dorico, Steinberg's music notation and composition application. The new Score Editor provides a notation-based MIDI editor that allows users to examine and edit music as notation.
Other new features in Cubase 14 include DAW project file format support, an enhanced Range Selection tool, the ability to set the play probability of each note in the Key Editor, a performance monitor, more colors in SuperVision, and an aesthetic makeover for the Control Room.
