Wavesfactory has released StrumGTR (Electric) for Kontakt and EXS24, which features real strummed major and minor chords of an electric guitar (upstroke and down-stroke) recorded by direct input.
StrumGTR (Electric) has been sampled to represent the way real guitarists play. The company believes that when a guitarist strums softer, he doesn't strum all the strings, only the first ones depending if he upstrokes or down-strokes, that's why this instrument sounds so real to their ears.
Apart from the chords, they also sampled fret noises, open strings and mutes. All with 5 velocity layers and 4 round robin (repetitions). MIDI files are included with predefined patterns to help understand the way it works, the user can use these patterns to build their own.
