The TS-1 is a multimode frequency dependent transient shaper designed to manage the attack and sustain of an incoming audio signal.

TS-1 features two separate detection circuits for Attack and Sustain, whose signals can be filtered to improve the detection (SC filtering) or to color the processed audio. Due to its level independent nature, you don't need to set any threshold and a soft clipping circuit will gently saturate and "compress" your signal, in a similar way to a tape saturation.

Detected transient size can be set in real-time and thanks to the Blend parameter you can mix the processed sound with the original signal.

I tried this out but it doesn't appeal to me much.

There's a huge GR meter in the middle of the GUI but it only applies to the amount reduced by softclipping. If you were using this for mastering you would probably avoid the softclipping, so most users are just going to find that GR meter a waste of space. Also the needle on the thing is slower than a snail so it's pretty useless even if you go for the softclipping.

There's no bypass on the GUI. The speed/resolution dial doesn't seem to work properly when you bypass via the daw. So that's another irritation.

The transient process sounds decent, it has two hipass filters that can be optionally applied, haven't seen this before. However, it doesn't really do anything special and can't give extreme sounds. If I wanted a quick light transient shaper I would probably go to Bittersweet by Flux.

Not worth the 50.00 in my opinion.

You can get something like Izotope alloy which has a transient designer too for about 40 bucks ate the kvr sell and buy forum and its going to give you much more bang for your buck than this, or even the free bittersweet by flux.

Save yourself some money and buy something else.

Alloys transient designer sounds very different - and not in a positive sense when compared to TS-1.. TS-1 is also a better tool than Bittersweet imo.
