Free distortion plugin for VST-based hosts. Does its best to be like Logic's Clip Distortion and adds a bunch of other great features, which makes it very useful for the Hardstyle genre:

  • Symmetry: Make your waveform asymmetrical for more finetuned distortion.
  • Hard clip: Simple hard clip distortion.
  • Soft clip: Hyperbolic soft clip distortion.
  • Resonance: Increase the resonance to get a great tonal sound.
  • Bitcrush: Add some bitcrushing to your waveforms.
  • DC Filter: Filter out that nasty DC offset quickly and efficiently.

It's free! It runs on Windows and Mac DAW's that support 64-bit VST3's. There's also a Nimble Tools Discord for more info and support.

Huge thanks to Code Black, Headhunterz, Frontliner, and many other top Hardstyle DJ's for their very helpful feedback! And a special thank you to Kimmykix aka Jacknife for the initial idea for me to make this plugin.

Great multi-fx distortion unit (i.e. hard clip, soft clip, assymetrical distortion), not only for the hardstyle genre.

Thanks to the dry/wet 'Mix' knob, you can dial in a perfect amount to give the signal this certain crisp and presence, without sounding too harsh. Very useful.

Only negative thing is that the interface is a little small for modern desktops (no resizing available) and the greyed parameters and values are a bit hard to read at the dark background.

This is even fantastic on real Bass guitar to add some cutting Darkglass like tones in your mix.

Normally I don't use distortion/saturation plugins. They all don't cut it if you compare it with real analog overdrive. Then I came across this, and here I am writing my first review. It can be compared to the Bitcrusher from Logic, this one is better though.

My favourite VST for analog-style fuzz. Decent level of control, but you don't need to dig into the manual to figure it out. If you push it really hard you can also get Big Muff fuzz sounds, which is great for a free VSTs.

The best Logic Clip Distortion clone I've used. All the standard controls are there: soft and hard clipping, a 1/2-pole high pass before and a low pass after, and the all-important asymmetry parameter. It sounds great. The separate soft and hard clipping allow for a lot of control. I don't think Logic Clip Distortion is anything special, it's just common, but this plugin is definitely a fantastic emulation. This plugin, a parametric EQ, and a 909 synth are all you need to get started making hardstyle and hardcore kicks. You can make many kick. Such kick.
