Gotcha is an .sf2 player for Windows. It loads SoundFonts.
This VSTi brings 3 soundfont banks (Bass/Dirty Vintage and Rave Leads).
Also features:
- chord player
- distortion station
- LFO
- octave stepper
- trancegate
- stereo delay
- chorus
- reverb
- phaser.
Gotcha is free and works on Windows 32/64-bits, Win7/Win8 and Windows 10.
This was one of the best Soundfont players I could find, after Image-Line discontinued their native Fruity Soundfont player from their FL Studio DAW.
I found that Gotcha worked well with most of my existing soundfonts and so I was using this as a 64-bit replacement in many of my projects. However, now it appears as though it too has been discontinued, which seems a real shame to me.
Does anyone know why this has happened or if there are any well-supported alternative .sf2 players (which disqualifies Sforzano and other .sfz only software)?
Read ReviewFun tool for trying out soundfonts. You can quickly choose them from a list and play around.
If you are not sure, if the soundfont fits your choice, you can add the most common effects to hear how it sounds with a reverb, a chorus or delay. The chord player and the octave stepper make Gotcha also interesting for live performing.
If the developer would add some more contrast to the GUI I would give 5 stars.
Whatever, another nice plugin from Beatassist. Thanks.
