That legendary SSL sound character

The G-Series is world renowned as one of the best consoles ever made for producing and mixing rock music, thanks to its tight, punchy and assertive tone, it's pleasantly "crunchy" sound when pushed hard. In addition to its proven track record in rock production, the 4000 G was the board behind countless top 40 hits of the 80s, 90s, 2000s and beyond.

Beloved by some of the best in the business

The 4000 G is among the best-selling, best-sounding and most respected professional consoles of its era, and a favorite of major mixers including prolific living legends like Bob Clearmountain, Andy Wallace, Alan Moulder, and so many more. With a little bit more "grit" and edge than SSL's E series, as well as a slightly tighter and more precise EQ, the G series continues to gain new die-hard fans to this day.

The most faithful recreation of this studio classic available

The bx_console SSL 4000 G precisely recreates the signal path, workflow and sound of the original Solid State Logic channel strip at the component level, powered by Brainworx' patented TMT technology. No other emulation comes as close to capturing the unmistakable sound and feel of working on a real analog SSL console.

Like having two channel strips in one

The 4000 G plugin includes all the features that made the original consoles so great, and more. You can switch between the "pink knob" and pultec-style "orange knob" versions of the EQ with the click of a mouse, or toggle between the E and G series dynamics modules just as easily.

Enhanced with special features only possible in the digital domain

Like all bx_console plugins, the 4000 G delivers the unique character of a real analog console with startling accuracy, thanks to its Tolerance Modeling Technology, which increases depth and realism by providing 72 uniquely varied channels—just like on a real board. But it also adds controls that are only possible in the digital domain. Special features include a mix knob, along with V-Gain and THD controls that allow you to dial in additional saturation and vibe without upsetting your mix balances or gain staging.

Features:

  • 72 different (.) TMT Channel emulations in one plugin, just like a real console.
  • TMT — Brainworx patent-registered "Tolerance Modeling Technology" (US Patent No. 10,725,727).
  • Switchable EQ modes between the "pink knob" version for punchy lows and edgier mids, or the "orange knob" version for a smoother midrange and pultec-style bottom end.
  • A complete dynamics section switchable between E and G modes.
  • Perfect emulation of every aspect of the original 4000 G channel strip, including preamp, filters, compression, expander/gate and 4-band parametric EQ.
  • Continuously variable THD and Virtual Gain controls to add colorful saturation and/or simulated analog noise independently or globally.
  • Scalable UI to adapt to your screensize and workflow.
  • Loaded with plenty of useful presets to give you a starting place for finding your sound.
  • The only true CONSOLE emulation—everything else is just a channel strip.
