Bertom Denoiser is a free noise reduction plugin designed for music and post production / dialogue.

Features:

  • A simple user interface which doesn't rely on "learning" a static noise profile.
  • Fully automatable.
  • Low CPU usage so it can be used on many tracks.
  • Works in the time domain with zero latency.
  • Doesn't simply react to the raw input signal but tracks how the noise is evolving in each band.
  • No musical noise (no FFT) at the cost of larger frequency bands and thus shines better at moderate reduction: don't overcook.
  • No crossovers and no phase shift when there is no reduction, in a similar way to a dynamic EQ.
  • Stereo link control (since 1.0.6).

What's new in 1.0.7 ?:

  • The stereo link control has been fixed and now behaves as you would expect.
  • Now uses the same update checking mechanism as my EQ Curve Analyzer plugin (among other more minor things) which is more robust (if you experienced some hanging while loading the plugin, this version should fix it).

Congratulations on the first addition to the database, I see REAPER so I assume a technical background, hope to see your further inventions for the freeware community. :).

Looks really promising. Any chance for a difference monitoring/noise only mode?

Yes, I'll look into that. I'm writing down everything people are asking for, so suggestions are very welcome.

So far I think it works pretty well for a free one that doesn't need an existing noise capture. I'm really liking it as is, though I think a noise only/difference mode (and maybe 7 bands too) will really take it from good to competitive with professional plugins. I'll definitely be donating once I'm back to work. My workplace is still closed due to COVID19, and probably will be for a couple months (Canada isn't in any rush to open casinos back up).

Also any chance for Linux support?

Thanks for your interest. Yes I might build for linux in the future. Linux VST3 support should come soon with the next JUCE framework version. I'll definitely try it.
