The deputy Mark II is a software instrument for Microsoft Windows (VST2/VST3/CLAP) and Apple macOS (VST2/VST3/AU/CLAP) in the tradition of classic string machines and early "polyphonic" synthesizers, written in native C++ code. The main features are:
Resizable user interface (not "N" version).
The deputy emulates an instrument that might have been built this way in the 1970s. Due to technical and economical reasons it would have been a compromise between which features a musician expected, what he was willing to pay for it, and what fitted in a single box. It is (technically speaking, and as to nowadays standards) a fairly limited instrument. However, I strongly believe that technical limitation can be a source of great creativity. Prost.

A nice polyphonic synth with a clean, marvelous and intuitive GUI. You can't get lost on it. Also it is very stable, low on CPU and very well coded. Usual work from FullBucket. The output sound has a great and clean quality. And of course it can be as noisy or fat as you wish it. It comes with a good amount of interesting features, a phaser, an ensembler, FM, PulseWidth and good resonant filters.
It only lacks of a wider range of sounds and it's not a bad thing at all, due this synth was created to do what a strings synth does, but also, with some extras.
It's a great freebie at no cost for typical ensemble and analog sounds and a must have in your freebie VST folder. Don't miss it!

A really gorgeous polyphonic synth. Has some of the best synth sounds I've heard out of a freebie for a while. Documentation is fairly comprehensive, and no crashes with my host FL. The presets out of the box just demonstrate how nice of a sound it has, just try the power bells or any of the formant sounds. It also has an easy to read and comprehensive GUI.
Good synth indeed, and one of the better string synths recently. Get this is you're looking for warm, good, cheesy string goodness.
