Handy Drums- Vintage Standard

VINTAGE STANDARD from the Handy Drums plugin range is a pre-mixed, sampled acoustic drumset suitable for a variety of music production styles. The plugin offers album-like, produced drum sound quality right out of the box and is aimed at users looking for instant drum results. Tweaks to the individual drum components can be achieved using the included mixer. Each drum component sounds as a part of the drumset as a single instrument played in an acoustic space.

As is the case with all of the plugins in the Handy Drums collection, the Vintage Standard comes with a clean, simple GUI offering essential functionalities such as drum mapping, routing, and other settings in a discreet, intuitive manner. That makes this virtual drumset very easy to use.

At the center of this plugin is a 6-piece, maple drumset, with a metal-shell snare drum. This kit was treated in a retro fashion before sampling: the top heads were muffled to control the overtones and decay. While dry-sounding in nature, this kit contains natural room ambiance and sounds on the playback the same way it did in the recording studio. The whole kit is warm, and punchy with a very short sustain. It is suitable for a range of music styles from retro to contemporary.

Inspired by the sound of Don Henley's drums with The Eagles, it was passed through the analog reel-to-reel tape for a gentle saturation and authentic retro vibe.

In addition to the 6-piece drumset with cymbals (hats, ride, crashes, splashes), the plugin comes with a few sampled percussion instruments, a standard for Handy Drums plugins: shaker, cowbell, triangle, handclaps.

The variable hi-hat comes standard with this plugin, but it achieves 6 stages of hi-hat openness utilizing only 2 notes in combination with a CC4 controller.
