The BST100 V2 Super Overdrive guitar amplifier plugin includes a complete recording chain emulation with 6 selected and fine tuned guitar amplifier cabinets, 4 microphones and a mixer section to blend 2 mics together with the room ambience and our custom design noise gate circuit.
You can also load your favorite Cabinet Impulse Response or bypass the intere recording chain section to use your real power amplifier and guitar speakers system with the BST100 V2 Super Overdrive guitar amplifier plugin.
To create the new BST100 V2 Super Overdrive Guitar Amplifier plugin, Nembrini Audio has carefully re-modeled and fine tuned every nuance of this iconic amp.
With BST100 V2 Super Overdrive is possible select between six different famous guitars cab, four mic emulations with on/off axis position switch, continuous position and distance knobs.
A complete Mixer section with Solos, Mutes, Pans and Faders allow you to blend together the two microphones with the ambience microphones.
Impulse Loader let you load up to three 3rd-parties impulse responses, you can blend them together using volume, pan, phase, solo and mute controls.
A convenient browser window has been added so you can easily search through all your third parts IR files.
Noise Gate section plus a Cleaner circuit to reduce rumbling and harsh is included.

Version reviewed: V2 on Windows
Although I really like most Nembrini amp simulations, this one leaves very mixed impressions to me.
On the one hand the Clean channel (including the Crunch voicing) sounds - as expected - excellent, unfortunately the Boost channel did not really convince me. Sounds like a Soldano, but – especially if compared to some other Soldano simualtions, I miss a lot of this typical midrange punch, while treble sounds much too sharp, too thin and shrill for my taste.
I tried a lot, reducing input and output level, only using Normal mode, but as soon as I adjust Treble and Presence to medium settings or higher, the tones get some – for my taste – much too intense, unharmonious sounding sharpness, but if Treble and Presence are reduced, the tones start sounding too dull and muddy.
Using a 412 with G12M speakers reduces the problem a little, but this cannot really be a convincing solution.
A Soldano has some treble bite, no doubt, but the one here sounds too harsh and unnatural to me, even more, as some more intense mids also seem to be missing.
A similar experience I also made with the Nembrini Sound Master Custom plugin. Fantastic sounding Clean channel, but unfortunately also a too sharp, too thin, too shrill sounding Overdrive channel.
A little bit disappointing, especially if compared with some other, really great sounding Nembrini amp simulations. So I think, the Boost channel really needs some upgrade, to sound convincing. Then this also could be fantastic sounding plugin. Until then I rather prefer using some other Nembrini amps.
