Santa Guiro

Santa Guiro is a free virtual instrument that simulate the percussion instrument guiro. It is played using the modulation wheel on your MIDI controller.

Behind the scenes a real Guiro is sampled and chopped up in short samples (one sample for each "tick") at different positions and velocity layers. This makes it sound quite natural and should be played just as the real instrument.

Usage:

To play the Guiro, hold down a MIDI note to set the stick down. Then use the modulation wheel (control change #1) to start scraping. Cha-cha-cha.
