The SV12's design is centered around a custom-designed VCA circuit that provides clean and quiet gain reduction. The front panel offers a comprehensive set of controls, including fully variable Threshold, Ratio, Attack, and Release, allowing you to dial in the perfect compression for any task. A standout feature is the switchable compression curve, which allows you to choose between "Soft" and "Hard" knee settings. The soft knee provides a gentle, gradual onset of compression, ideal for transparent dynamic control, while the hard knee offers a more aggressive response perfect for limiting and creative shaping. The module also includes API's patented "Thrust" switch, which engages a high-pass filter in the detector circuit to deliver punchy, powerful compression that retains low-frequency impact. A 10-segment LED meter provides clear and accurate gain reduction metering, and the unit is stereo-linkable with a second SV12.
