St Johns Wood Drums

The first one of my 'gems' that I've made and use all the time. Quick, easy - simple one shots or instruments to drop into your DAW or Sampler of your choice.

Recorded in late 2019 at this North London facility, it's probably my favourite studio - an incredible selection of gear and arguably the best drum room in London. Throughout the day I recorded my 80s Gretsch kit with a load of mics & different tunings. This was from a drum recording masterclass, the drummer was Kevin Hein & I was assisted on the day by Emma Marks as well as 20 students! Wonderful.

I've used these samples a bunch on different mixes to reinforce, especially those wonderful room tones.

Recorded & Mixed on a the console into a Studer a800 w/ 24 track head & 15ips (on Ampex 456).

Recorded at 24-bit 44.1kHz.
