After purchaing and downloading The Mangle I installed the package into Ableton 10.1 live suite on windows 64-bit, following the instructions exactly.. On checking Abletons plug ins I found it and selected it. It appeared on the display..Going through the controls I found "Demo Version" clearly displayed with a request to buy a license..The Save & Save As buttons were both greyed out. I uninstalled it and downloaded it again with the same results 5 times. I took screen shots of every stage including the e-mail from Tom at Sound Guru thanking me for my purchase and the download code..The e-mail from Tom stated if there was any problems to get in touch. This I have done a number of times explaining the situation..Result..NO ANSWER. The site I downloaded it from was the Official one. I am becoming extremly annoyed..Can you please help with anything I can do to rectify the situation. I payed via Pay Pal.
I too think out is an amazingly great to use and sounding granular synthesis tool. Very musical and the modulation options are just great. You can use 8 samples at once if you like and you have a full ADSR envelop what most granular samplers misses. The rendering is smooth and the engine allowes very nice grain clouds and a mixture of forward and backward playing grains. A feature I am missing in many other tools I am using.
Most thought the product was dead due Tom never responded on anything and no update came out for years... but surprisingly I received a mail from the dev that Tom would be working on some things and even is planning to add new features into THE MANGLE. I think that will take veeeeeery long time but I was happy to hear a sign of life lately.
I tried to contact him a few times over the last 2 years to get any update info. No response. This is a very bad behaviour, i think the project is dead. Vaporware who used Richard Devine feedback to collect money from us stupid customers.
