Expansion Controls

Precision Without Complexity:

• Getting the perfect amount of punch is straightforward with Vigor's familiar control set.
• The Expand knob sets your threshold, determining which parts of your drum sound get enhanced and which stay natural.
• Fine-tune the character with Attack and Release controls to shape how quickly the expansion responds to your drums.
• Fast attack times grab transients immediately for maximum snap and crack. Slower attack times let the initial transient through naturally while building body and sustain.
• The Release control determines how long the enhancement lasts after each hit.
• Finally, dial in the Ratio to set the overall intensity of the effect.

Tone Shaping

• Vigor's Tone control is a tilt EQ that lets you instantly add warmth or brightness to your enhanced drums without reaching for another plugin.
• Twist left for a darker, chunkier sound that emphasizes the low-end body and weight of your drums.
• Twist right for crisp, cutting presence that brings out stick definition, cymbal shimmer, and all the high-frequency detail that makes drums feel immediate and exciting.

Peak Management

• Vigor comes with a built-in Clipper that automatically manages and removes those extra peaks during the expansion process.
• As Vigor enhances your drums and brings up the transients, the clipper intelligently catches any peaks that would cause problems downstream.
• The clipper operates with surgical precision, shaving off only the problematic peak content while preserving the body, tone, and character of your drums.
• The clipping is paired with oversampling controls up to 8x, giving you complete control over the quality and character of the peak management.
• Higher oversampling rates deliver maximum transparency for critical material, while lower settings keep your CPU happy during fast-paced workflow sessions.

Mid/Side Processing

Dimensional Drum Control:

• Take your drum enhancement into the stereo field with Vigor's Mid/Side mode.
• In Mid/Side mode, Vigor processes the center (Mid) and sides (Side) of your stereo signal independently.
• Add punch to the center while leaving the sides untouched for a focused, powerful core with natural, spacious ambience around it.
• Mid/Side processing gives you dimensional control over your drum sound, perfect for complex mixes where stereo imaging matters.
