Versilian Studios releases Dan Tranh VSTi/AU for Windows and Mac OS X

Versilian Studios has released an extensively sampled Dan Tranh plug-in virtual instrument for Mac OS X and Windows.

The Dan Tranh is a traditional zither originating from Vietnam. It is considerably longer than its European and American cousins, and is also tuned as a pentatonic instrument.

This plug-in contains samples of normal plucking (4 velocity layers, 2x multisampling), muted or "pizzicato" plucks (3 velocity layers, 2x multisampling), real vibrato (4 velocity layers, 2x multisampling), Glissandi (up/down, four speeds, 2x multisampling, 3 velocity layers), and effects (approximately 52 different sounds).

Dan Tranh comes in the form of either a 32-bit or 64-bit VSTi plug-in or an Audio Unit component.
