I don't think it would be legal, but if not I could create an iso file for you from the DVD-disc and share it. It's only 240 MB. Then you just have to persuade the seller to open the box and mail you the serial when you purchase the DVD.

But this is probably violating Yamahas rights or something even though it would create a sale ;-).

three parts made with syng3, still a bit ropey, some loud consonants, you can hear the expressive flexibility of the synth engine.

That's very kind and considerate of you Hans, and it would be much appreciated, I'll look into it and get back to you.

Cheers :tu:

Hans25, how are liking Cyber Diva's range of tone? I think I'm going to just buy Vocaloid 4 for Cubase and Cyber Diva off of ebay now, instead of waiting for Yamaha's uncertain decision to sell it to the US or not. That's silly to me. So in this case I feel the ebay seller you listed should be rewarded for making this available to people in the US.

Well we have to help each other don't we? ;-). But I will only send it if it's not a violation of Yahamha's distribution rights (it probably is :?).

Well first off all you can always download Cyber Diva at the Vocaloid english store. I think that would be the cheapest option. Second no matter if you get both try to get a little discount from the guy. I got it after whining about toll and tax etc.

I don't know if I'm the right one to ask about the quality of Cyber Diva because this is my first Vocaloid and I'm not sure what to expect. You can watch the demos of Cyber Diva on youtube (you probably did). I haven't had enough time to play with it to give you a realistic opinion.

My experience right now is that I'm not that impressed. She sound very nasal even though I tried to correct it in the editor. This could also be due to my lack of experience and time to adjust her voice so I will give "her" the benifit of my doubts for now.

What is worse (and I don't know if I did something wrong in Cubase) that she seems to be out of tune. :?
If this is because of the Cubase Editor or the Cyber Diva library I don't know but I simply had to adjust the pitch in the setting. She was pitched too low. I don't know if this is a bug or if I mistakenly did something wrong in Cubase 8 or Cubase Vocaloid Editor (Cubase is latest version 8.0.10).

Even when I corrected the overall pitch she seems to sing some words false?! Like doing vibrato out of control. I don't know if I have too high expectations but for now this is all I can say. I will definitely update my experience later but I don't have so much time at the moment.
Cubase Editor for Vocaloid 4 is working flawless except from that.

I forgot to mention that the upcoming Ruby for Vocaloid 4 sounds pretty impressive, I don't know when it's going to be released and if the samples are just marketing hype. If not I think that she sounds good.

Music is horrible though ;-).

I can't find out who is behind Ruby. Some say Powerfx and some Vocatone.

On last note: Vocaloids at Zero-G are on sale until end of March: http://www.zero-g.co.uk/store/vocaloid-c42.php

There is a demo of Megurine Luka V4 (with Priapro Studio included) available at:
http://sonicwire.com/product/vocaloid/special/lukav4x

From the website:
Sonicwire-Crypton wrote:This is a special trial version of virtual singer software MEGURINE LUKA V4X voice library "HARD (2 types: with/without E.V.E.C.)" and the vocal editor Piapro Studio. All functions are enabled for 14 days from the day of installation.
Zero-G has lowered the price of Avanna to $49,99 until 31 march (normally $69,99)
http://www.zero-g.co.uk/store/vocaloid-avanna-p502.php

I wrote Zero-G to ask if they have plans for V4 voice banks, here is the answer:
Zero-G wrote:We are hoping to have at least 2 Vocaloid 4 voices ready for release by the end of May this year.
There will be an American male and female voice but we cannot say much more than that yet.

Yeah, Zero-G seem to be heavily discounting Avanna (Voc3) and some old Voc2 libraries (Prima, Tonio, Sonika) at $50 each at the moment.

I know Voc3 works with Voc2 libraries, and that Voc4 seems to officially work with Voc3 libraries; but can anyone confirm if Voc4 also works with Voc2 libraries?

It seems as if Yamaha indeed provides a tool to import V2 directly into V4!

What is the best english Vocaloid library you people have come across? I have surfed the web and the only demo where I was actually able to hear what was being sung was Big Ai made by Powerfx. That's an old Vocaloid 2 Library. http://powerfx.com/products/1

I'm considering buying Avanna now that she is on sale. I'm not totally convinced from the demos and if they are releasing Vocaloids for 4th edition, maybe I should wait.

I'm not convinced from Megurine Luka V4 demos. She sounds to japanese and artificial for my taste. The only useful upcoming Vocaloid 4 I have come across is Ruby as I mentioned earlier.

Hi Hans

have you heard YOHIOloid?

And some info on others from the girl who did the artwork on Avanna (skip to the English Vocaloids)

Good luck. :D

This might not be the best demo as I only spent a few hours on it, but you should be able to make out the words in this one: https://soundcloud.com/garryknight/dont ... -ft-avanna

On a more general note, it occurs to me that if Zero-G are having a sale, maybe they'll start selling the version 4 editor as well as the vocaloids.

I'm so hyped about this, it's been so long since zero-g had a male vocal (last one was Tonio).
[edit]

has someone inquired about the V4 editor to zero-g/powerFX
(I recall someone emailing powerFX that they have plans to sell the V4 editor but it's been months and there's no update so I'm just taking this with a grain of salt)
coz it's only available at Yamaha's Vocaloid store at the moment for overseas users [DL only]. (unless they buy it from Japanese importers [dvd box])
[edit]

they're still not selling in the US what-

Let me start off by saying that I loved the song. I can't believe I listened to an 8 minute track and wasn't bored stiff. I also thought the "quality" of the voice was excellent for what it does, anime tunes. Maybe some traditional pop but I'm not hearing it. It's too cartoonish, which is fine if that's the sound you're going for.

But I can't make out most of the lyrics. The vocals are too buried in the mix. They need to be brought out a little bit.

If I'm writing a pop song for a female artist and I can't find a singer (and I certainly don't want to sing it myself) I might consider using this for a demo to present to a publisher or whoever. I would never use it as a finished product unless I'm doing Japanese anime.
