I'd like to hear your thoughts on this new MOPIS synth.

The "reconstructive synthesis" sounds to me somewhat like what Reaktor's Pitchformer (and its equivalent in Kontakt) does....

I like the price.

Bit hard to tell from the MP3s at the site. They seem to be fixated on vocalese/vocoding, which rarely interests me at all. [If I wanna sing, I sing.]

The analog presets are awfully generic. But, maybe there's a great idea here. They need to work on explaining and communicating what it is, or they'll be relying on folks who grab every demo around.

So, I started messing with the demo this afternoon. It's rather cute, if a bit baffling. I guess to appreciate it better I need to stuff a few samples into it, and get away from the preset sounds. Not to say that they're not okay, just a bit generic, that's all.

Grotty GUI, but I think this baby might be worth a couple of hours of careful investigation.
