Someone at East West has spent too much time on KVR:

"No more trips back and forth between computers, no more KVR switching when loading projects"

I think they meant "KVM". :D LOL

obVSTInstruments: it seems that creating your own proprietary locked and encrypted sample-player is where the big bucks come from. No more plain WAVs.

And no more "tithe" to Native Instruments - which no doubt is a BIG plus.

However, their choice of Pace ILok dongle over Syncrosoft guarantees I won't be shopping with them. That's two significant sample vendors (Plugsound and East-West) that have gone with Pace ILok :(

And huge boxes with 90% empty space, too. Wouldn't call it unscrupulous, but is the box viagra really needed? And come to think of it, didn't their demos for "Silver" also have the same pieces as "Gold" - making you wonder how much of the real product that you're getting?

I've felt really slighted after buying more than just one thing from them. Got rid of all of it, too - just didn't feel like I was getting what was promised and presented.

Again, so I am not misunderstod, I am not in any way implying dishonesty and certainly not deception, but in the way they're both presented and marketed is a little too puffed up, though not at all suggesting that the products aren't good.

Ummm the "huge box" thing, they're mostly all that way. People associate "bigger box" with something more important, especially when they are paying a premium. This happens in other industries as well, like servers.

Can I just clarify something here...

Are you saying The Beatles are one hit wonders, or East West???

One would like to think you meant the latter.

You must have just got off the boat. The answer to your question is neither. I'm sure you know of bands that made only one hit, and that was the last you heard of them. So get all excited for East Wests new smash hit! ... Instruments of One Hit Wonders. You can order now! and if you order now you can get a 10% discount on our overpriced product!

Yeah! Thats what I'm talkin bout! :)
