Captain - yes.

giantsteps - it's not far off. Wanted to get some extra testing feedback on the Windows x64 build while we finish up the last loose ends on the Mac one.

Is it stable?

Post

Feedback on the beta we've had so far is that the x64 version stable apart from when switching between some of the largest Fusor patches. We'll fix that in the next round, expect that in the next few days

Great news:) I just started getting into D Cam yesterday (had it for a while) and was really missing 64bit... The Logic bridge whilst stable is pretty annoying. Really loving the sound:)

Hm,

I just can update the 32bit standalones and 32bit VST plug-ins.
No option in the installer for x64 ?
In the Installer data folder I can see the standalone files for x64,
but where are the dlls located ?
Am I plain dumb or what is going on with that installer ?

I am on Vista x64 SP2, running the 32bit versions so far without problems.

Cheers

The x64 DLLs get installed to C:/Program Files/FXpansion/Strobe etc.; the x86 DLLs go to C:/Program Files (x86)/FXpansion/Strobe.

Having said that - we don't test with Vista (only XP x86 & Win7 x86 & x64), so I can't say for 100% sure that the installer would identify your machine correctly as 64 bit.

Thanks for the reply, Angus.
Well, it seems this is exactly the problem,
if I look at any of the Runtime logs it reads "Operating system: Win32".

I do understand, that you don't test your software on Vista nowadays,
but is there somehow a manual install possible, even if not supported ?
It really shouldn't fail just because of the installer.

Thanks and Cheers.

If you download the Mac installer (yes, sounds weird, they're the same installer only the Windows ZIP has an EXE selfextractor glued on the front - alternatively you can use e.g. WinRAR to unpack the selfextractor EXE manually), then unZIP & look in Installer / Data_SS, you'll find a file called 'dss_template.x64'. If you rename this to e.g. Strobe.dll, Cypher.dll, Fusor.dll you should find that it runs as an x64 DLL (VST plug-in) version of the synth.
