Of course grateful for the freebies, but also good if devs could seem to pinpoint their date of launch better, based on recent events it seems they just pick them at random out of thin airras.s wrote:Are you complaining that the man isn't giving you free stuff because he essentially wants you to wait to give you more free stuff?

Why not show your gratitude by just waiting, then? They've probably got work to do as well and not just provide people with free giveaways, I can't see any reason to complain if the man even says he doesn't want to give away what he has worked on up to now so that folks wouldn't be disappointed. I mean, imagine the weeping and the wailing and the gnashing of teeth, if there wasn't enough of free stuff!

WTF, are you the PR guy?ras.s wrote:Why not show your gratitude by just waiting, then?
What makes Sfzorzando special among the sfz players is that it got a scripted interface, but it's of no use really if there is never gonna be released new stuff for it.
Either payware or freeware, I've seen more or less zilch this year?
So why did Plogue invest any time in making this instrument if they are not gonna be following it up?

No, I'm not their public relations guy. I'm another sound addict roaming KVR, not much different from you. The difference probably between you and I is that I don't get upset or sad by free products. What did irritate me was this attitude you manifested:
The scripting side in Sfzorzando (as far as I can tell) isn't exactly just SFZ, it's the Aria engine. Something they've invested a lot of time in, and this player is just a spin-off, a service to the community, if you will. It existed as a part of their engine, but they wanted to give the SFZ side of it away for free, no strings attached. Please, don't be sad or upset if it doesn't fill your seasonal need of free stuff.

So what you really meant to say is that it will be launched whenever next time you need some free publicity.

Well, what irritated me and made me write that is that the dev start talking about contractual obligationsras.s wrote:What did irritate me was this attitude you manifested
Hello?
Yes, I can understand that the intial comment about releasing seasonal stuff was made on a whim and not thought through.
But just say so then that the company need to focus on other things during this time.
I mean, do I need to ask for a contract next time a dev comes forward and setting a release date for their product?

Yea, he smiled after saying that the promise to give away free stuff wasn't a contract.
Hello?
And he did say in june already (on the previous page) that he's swamped with other stuff and haven't been able to make an update. You've been around long enough here to know that sometimes deadlines aren't kept, right? And still - it's free stuff your talking about, eh?
Next time you should just give it some more time before starting to question whatever the developer is a gentleman or not.

Yeah, excuse me for daring to even ask questionsras.s wrote:Next time you should just give it some more time before starting to question whatever the developer is a gentleman or not.
It's kind of weird to get this kind of hostility, just because I'm interested in the product

Really that wasn't it. We had it planned for next week, really, and worked on it quite a while, but pressing contracts got in the way. Sorry you feel that way.Numanoid wrote:To me that's like: You weren't stupid enough to believe in it were you?
