piano is something you need a good dedicated vsti for now there are several in komplete and that is only $500 so I would go that route because you also get the rest of that package which can solve all your issues. You will want to have other synths as well

its a curse like the lays potato chips commercials of the past you can't just try one.

i have true amber that came with sonar my daw of choice.

There are a few decent free ones out there google CVpiano and piano one.

Hm, I have some restriction at this moment:
- low budget (I already have lot's of hardware synth and it's crisis haha ;-) )
- basic laptop (AMD x64 2.1ghz with 4Gb ram)

So I hope I can find some free stuff that does the job at this moment by layering piano, strings, etc,...

Yes, great ! I'm looking for a list of presets to decide if I will buy it. I need good brasses, piano's (grand, cp-80, rhodes, wurly) and some good strings.
All the other things I can reproduce with analog soft synths :-)

Ow men ! I got Dimension Pro yesterday, it's definitely advisable ! :-)
Good sounds, lot's of. Easy tweaking (I know it could be improved, but still it's not bad and very simple), import of other format's, etc,...

Just looking for:
- a decent CP80 piano in SFZ format, I've found the giga version, but can't find a way to convert it to sfz. If somebody can help or send me his version?
- conversion of sf2 to sfz ?
- more sfz's for download :-) I'm looking for good brasses, this is a bit missing in D-Pro

i am very happy !

Use Plogue sforzando to convert sf2 to sfz.

Maybe this is a good option: http://www.genuinesoundware.com/?a=showproduct&b=38

(Don't really know it, but looks like it fits your needs in some ways).
